About this deal

Issue 163 was always superb (with the Hulk) and Miller's pencils here still make me sigh, yearn to be 12 again and try those acrobatic moves!

This massive tome boasts a whopping 41 Daredevil issues, the first Annual, and a crossover issue of Fantastic Four.

The stories are good and fast paced, and the artwork by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson are spectaculair. Matt Draper, a comics-focused YouTuber who likes to analyse every bit of Daredevil lore as if it was Dostoevsky, has this video on the story. That being said, do not skip over the stories before Elektra was introduced because the events that happened previously will have an impact on the story later on in the book.

I'm also a huge sucker for the wide, hyper saturated color palettes of this era and this run doesn't disappoint. When a daring act to save a man's life blinds young Murdock, he finds that the same accident has enhanced his remaining senses to superhuman levels. This is Miller's best (early) writing on Daredevil, where he introduces just about the entirety of the modern Daredevil mythos, including Elektra, Stick, the Kingpin as Daredevil villain, and Bullseye as arch-villain. Frank Miller's spellbinding scripts and pulse-pounding pencils mark one of Daredevil's greatest eras -- but will the Kingpin and Bullseye's efforts rob the Man Without Fear of everything he holds dear?

Frank Miller's run on daredevil is one of those legendary runs that you hear about as a comic book fan. It was an easy book to put down; my benign neglect made easier after reading yet another in a series of terrible two-parters. Traditional super-heroics mix effortlessly with mysterious martial artistry, doomed romance and dark personal drama. Miller re-defined the presentation of comic book characters and heroic fiction with his grand-daddy of graphic novels, “The Dark Knight. During those times, Daredevil was originally pinned with colorful characters (Stilt-Man for crying out loud), fighting different ones every day, and battling it out in court battles.
