give this attire tactile depth and realism. Faces are likewise presented with newfound complexity, showing pores and hairs with razor-precise clarity, boost over the existing Blu-ray, which is included, though sans new transfer as initially advertised. The 2160p resolution offers a tangibly sharper

The rears are alive much of the time, especially during the dance scene and the scenes in the diner. Dialogue is perfectly intelligible, even during Bruce Willis' whispered lines. Gunshots sound a bit tinny, but they've always sounded that way. Actually, the gunshots in 'Pulp Fiction' sound much more realistic than they do in other movies. When Jules lays into his Biblical verses the entire soundstage quakes. The crescendo of his prophetic voice fills the room. LFE has its moments, and when called upon offers a resonate force of bass.

Paramount's SteelBook is glossy and will show some handling fingerprints. The front panel is predominately red at the top where the film's title in format. Grain is present and very light: unobtrusive but flattering and filmic. The picture is also free of obvious encode flaws and print problems. within the diner, even the warmly bathed low light shots in the bar where Marsellus meets with Butch -- look very prominent, healthy, and appealing. Not the Usual Mindless Boring Getting to Know You Chit Chat (HD; 43:01). This all new retrospective has some great interviews with the cast and crew reminiscing about how they became involved in the project and what it meant to them. It's nice for a critic to hear that Quentin Tarantino evidently loved critics in his youth and adored Pauline Kael, which evidently fostered his appreciation for John Travolta, who was Kael's favorite actor of that era. Official synopsis: Critics and audiences worldwide hailed PULP FICTION as the star-studded movie that redefined cinema in the 20th century.

Writer-director Quentin Tarantino delivers an unforgettable cast of characters— including a pair of low-rent hit men (John Travolta and Samuel L. Quentin Tarantino’s first two films: Reservoir Dogs and now Pulp Fiction, have both benefitted from 4K releases. I had high hopes for this one, having just recently reviewed Reservoir Dogs and was blown away by the image. I’ll get this out of the way first – I did prefer the picture on Reservoir Dogs to this one, but that’s not to say that this one is bad – far from it, actually. This isn’t a night and day difference from the previously-released Blu-ray. In fact, most 4K movies aren’t. Rather, the 2.39:1 HEVC 4K image takes what was good and adds to it. Colors are more vibrant, detail has been increased and with the aid of HDR, many of the scenes have far better contrast. Given that this film was a higher profile movie than its predecessor, I’ve always found it an attractive-looking movie. The bottom line – was it worth the wait? I think it was and what we’ve got is the best this film has ever looked on any home video format. Audio: How does it sound? exteriors like. The film is not abundantly brilliant and superfluously colorful, but tones throughout -- whether clothes, natural greens, the colorstheir own hubs. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features Mia on the left and Vincent on the right, each pictured doing the "fingers over the Though this might have been ripe for a new Dolby Atmos mix, Paramount has taken the same DTS HD Master Audio from the Blu-ray. Dialogue, which is a staple of Tarantino’s films, sounds crisp and rich. Trust me, there’s no better way to hear Jules’“preaching” than in pure, uncompressed sound. The surrounds also came into play much more than I expected. Little things like a motorcycle starting up or a crowd of people talking (when Butch hits Marcellus with his car). If those opening credits don’t get your heart rate into triple digits, I’m guessing nothing will. Supplements: What are the extras? There are many Tarantino fans who consider Pulp Fiction to be his greatest accomplishment. It’s hard to argue that point. The character development, script, acting, and cinematography are all exceptional. The movie was nominated for a total of seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Here’s a review of Quentin Tarantino’s iconic film Pulp Fiction on 4k Blu-ray Disc. Pulp Fiction (1994) 4k Blu-ray screen photo with Uma Thurman Video an instant yet endearing classic... making big studios sit up and take notice of smaller independent R-rated features once again

Deleted Scenes (SD; 24:39) offers more of that iconic Tarantino insouciance (including in an on screen introduction). Tarantino eschews the idea there would ever be a Director's Cut of the film, opining "I made the film I wanted to the first time," but there's still some great, often very funny, stuff in this material. Sadly, nothing new has been created for this 4K release, but that’s OK. We’ve got plenty of supplemental content, though most of it resides on the Blu-ray.Deleted Scenes– Next up are some deleted scenes, five in all, hosted by the man himself. Quentin is very sure of himself, dissing the “Director’s Cuts” that are out there and telling us, quite frankly, that he made the movie he wanted to make the first time. Siskel & Ebert At the Movies: The Tarantino Generation– This segment focuses on the film at hand, obviously garnering praise from the two critics. From the vantage point of this particular reviewer, Pulp Fiction is still the bracingly original masterpiece it was when it was first released. I personally can't think of another film whose two and a half hour (more or less) running time seems to whiz by in the blink of an eye the way Pulp Fiction's does. I was frankly a little astonished when I saw how many Blu-ray.com readers hadn't yet seen Citizen Kane or Ben-Hur, two all-time classics I recently reviewed, so I shouldn't assume that most of those reading this review have already seen Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction handily twists Ben-Hur's straightforward narrative and even out-convolutes Citizen Kane's pretzel logic storytelling to deliver one of the most complex structures in mainstream film of at least the last fifty years, so a plot summary is well nigh impossible. remembered as the most gorgeous UHD in existence, but what the picture does do is offer a healthy and naturally occurring image that offers a solid The Dolby Vision color grading offers a quality suite of critical improvements as well. The grading reveals a more vibrant picture overall, with
