About this deal

Barrettine Premier Wood Preserver is a high-quality, low odour, oil based wood preserver that is deep penetrating. Barrettine wood preserver is used for wood protection against wood-destroying fungi (wet rot), wood discolouring fungi and wood-boring insects. This wood preserver provides a semi-transparent matt/satin finish allowing the natural wood texture to be visible, it can be used on pressure-treated wood, treated timber or untreated wood. This high-quality wood treatment is suitable for rough, sawn or smooth timber, does not require over sealing for wood protection. No subsequent topcoat is required unless for aesthetic purposes. Barrettine Wood Preserver is for outdoor use and also for use on windows/frames, external doors/frames (internal & external sections). The Barrettine Wood Preserver Clear can also be used on structural timbers in unoccupied areas such as floor joists. Can be sprayed using an airless sprayer such as a Wagner or Graco ideally using a minimum 1mm flat fan tip nozzle (9 – 11 thou tip).

Barrettine’s Wood Protective Treatment: - is a wood sealer for rough, sawn or smooth timber. It contains water repellent resins and a biocide film wood preserver to prevent the surface growth of mould/algae and together this helps reduce decay, swelling, twisting of wood. Pigments have good UV fade resistance and will help protect wood from UV damage. Provides non-biocidal protection, nourishing the wood and repelling water ingress that can cause decay. Less protection is given than Barrettine Wood Preserver

Although the solvent content of this product can perish the washers and hoses of some spray systems, it can still be a time and cost effective way to treat large areas. We recommend that if using a spray system you try to complete the project in one day. This said however, depending on the type and brand of sprayer, it may take longer than this. Cleaning Equipment Wood must be dry, and dirt free. Remove previous coatings such as paint or varnish and clean with a biocidal wash Brush, dip, roller or spray in suitable conditions. (When used outdoors make sure weather conditions are dry and still). Areas affected by mould, algae or fungi should be cleaned with a stiff brush or scraper then treated with Barrettine Mould and Mildew Cleaner Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from surface dirt, debris, mould, algae and other surface contaminates. New or Bare Timber

The final colour finish can vary considerably due to the age, type & condition of the timber being treated. We always recommend carrying out a test area first in an inconspicuous area to make sure you are happy with the final dried colour. The sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned after application with white spirit and then oiled to protect the tip and moving parts (as per manufacturer’s instructions). The final colour finish can vary considerably due to the age, type & condition of the timber being treated and will darken with multiple coats. Viewing colours on multiple digital screens can vary considerably and may not be totally accurate. We always recommend carrying out a small inconspicuous test area first. It is the Customer/end users responsibility to satisfy themselves that the colour finish is correct before full application.
